Semi-Final Series Schedule Set
March 24, 2005 - SPHL (SPHL)
Macon Trax News Release
As a result of the Jacksonville Barracudas 2-1 overtime victory Wednesday night in the first round elimination game vs. the Huntsville Havoc; the Macon Trax will be playing their rivals from North Florida in the SPHL semi-finals. This best two out of three series will begin in Jacksonville on Friday, March 25th. Game 2 will be in Macon Saturday, March 26th at 6:05 PM and Game 3, if necessary will be played in Macon Sunday, March 27th at 6:05 PM. Games 2 and 3 have 6:05 PM start times to accommodate Cherry Blossom Street Party goers and Easter Sunday.
The Trax finished the Regular Season in second place and were awaiting the highest seed remaining after the first round games. Jacksonville finished the season in third and therefore will be the Trax opponent. This sets up a re-match of the WHA2 Championship Series from the 03-04 Season that the Barracudas took 2 games to 0.
In the other semi-final series, the Regular Season Champion Knoxville Ice Bears will be playing the Columbus Cottonmouths. The number 5 seeded Cottonmouths went into Fayetteville Wednesday night and upset the number 4 seeded Fayetteville FireAntz 4-2. That series will start in Knoxville Friday night, in Columbus Sunday night and finish in Knoxville Monday night, if necessary.
The following is a look at the Trax best 2 out of 3 semi-final series schedule:
Game 1-Friday, March 25th vs. Jacksonville in Jacksonville at 7:05 PM
Game 2-Saturday, March 26th vs. Jacksonville in Macon at 6:05 PM
Game 3-Sunday, March 27th vs. Jacksonville in Macon at 6:05 PM, if necessary
