
Knoxville's Menzul named SPHL's Top Defenseman

[Asheville, NC] â Knoxville Ice Bears' all star defenseman, Curtis Menzul, has today been named "Top Defenseman" of the 2004-2005 season for the Southern Professional Hockey League.
Menzul, from Winnipeg, Manitoba was second in scoring for league defensemen behind Ryan Aikia, of the Columbus Cottonmouths, as well as second in +/- for defensemen behind Art Mnatsakanov of the Macon Trax. Menzul led the league in shots for defenseman with 162 in 51 games.
Aikia finished a close second in the polling of coaches, general managers and beat writers.
