Fayetteville Marksmen News Release

FAYETTEVILLE, NC--- Geoff Derouin, goaltender, for the Cape Fear FireAntz of the Atlantic Coast Hockey League (ACHL) is raffling off his old equipment. All fans in attendance for the March 12 game will have a chance to buy raffle tickets for the goalie's gear.

Fans will need to buy raffle tickets for one-dollar each for a chance to win leg pads, blocker, and a glove. All proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Derouin feels it is the least he can do for such a good cause.

"I am very lucky to be in the position that I am in," said Derouin, "I just hope by giving all the proceeds to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, I can help make a kid's dream come true. I know our great fans will really be supportive in this event."

Derouin is one of the original Cape Fear FireAntz. The Ft. St. John, BC native was the first ever Antz player to be signed. This year "Duck" has been one of the ACHL's busiest goaltenders. He has appeared in 35 games and holds a 3.97 goals against average.

Raffle tickets will be on sale starting Wednesday March 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Crown Coliseum. The game will start at 7:35 p.m. against the Winston-Salem Parrots. The winner of the equipment will be announced half way through the third period.

Tickets for FireAntz home games can be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets, the Crown Coliseum Box Office, or by calling 910-323-5088. Come out and support the FireAntz and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. For more information call the FireAntz office at 910-321-0123.
