
Hot Rods Overcome Dash 2-1 with James' Walk-Off Single

Bowling Green, Kentucky - Kamren James hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth, lifting the Bowling Green Hot Rods (7-4) to a 2-1 win over the Winston-Salem Dash (3-7) on Wednesday at Bowling Green Ballpark.
The Dash offense began the scoring in the top of the first against Hot Rods starter Trevor Martin. Jordan Sprinkle singled, stole second, and scored on a base hit by Shawn Goosenberg to put Winston-Salem up 1-0.
Bowling Green scored their first run of the game in the bottom of the first off Winston-Salem starter Tyler Schweitzer. Brayden Taylor walked and was plated on an RBI double from Cooper Kinney, tying the game, 1-1.
In the bottom of the ninth, Ledbetter led-off with a triple and James plated him with a single to win the game for the Hot Rods, 2-1.
Martin tossed 5.2 innings, allowing one run and four hits with eight strikeouts. Jake Christianson punched out one batter over 1.1 scoreless innings. Drew Sommers tossed a scoreless eighth, letting up one hit and striking out one. Jeff Hakanson (1-0) earned the win for striking out one in a scoreless ninth.
The Hot Rods and the Dash play game three of a six-game series on Thursday with first pitch set for 6:35 PM CT. Bowling Green starts RHP Alex Cook (0-1, 3.38), while Winston-Salem starts RHP Peyton Pallente (0-1. 9.00)
