Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release
The Hot Rods took their first road-series win of the season in Greenville against the Drive last week and look to take their first home series starting tonight.
Running it on the Road.... The Hot Rods took their first road-series victory of the season, taking four out of the six games played in Greenville against the Drive last week. Bowling Green's offense experienced a breakout series, outscoring the Drive, 39-23. The pitching staff held their end of the bargain as well, holding Greenville to three or less in half of the games played at Fluor Field last week.
Powered Up.... It took five games for the Hot Rods to hit their first home run of the year. Xavier Isaac blasted the first long ball of the season last Tuesday, opening the gate for the rest of the roster to follow. Bowling Green hit six homers in Greenville last week, with Isaac leading the way with two, and Jhon Diaz, Kamren James, Colton Ledbetter, and Tatem Levins all went yard once.
Simpson's Seven.... Chandler Simpson has started the season on a high note. He has collected at least one hit in all seven games he has played in. Over that span, Simpson is 13-for-29 (.448). All hits for Simpson so far have been singles. He has also caused chaos on the basepaths, stealing 10 bases on 12 attempts during his seven games.
Roll Out Roel... RHP Roel Garcia is making his second start of the season for the Hot Rods. It was a short showing in his first start, going 2.0 innings on Wednesday in Greenville. He worked efficiently through his frames, allowing two hits and one unearned run. The bullpen supported him in the matchup, tossing 7.0 innings of scoreless relief work in his no-decision and the Hot Rods 5-1 win.
