Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release

(Bowling Green, KY) - Mother Nature decided the field was the thirstiest party at Bowling Green Ballpark on Thirsty Thursday, as She brought heavy rains, high winds, and thunder and lightning to Bowling Green to suspend the Hot Rods series opener with the Lexington Legends. The game was suspended after 11 minutes of play with Lexington holding a 1-0 lead heading into the bottom of the first inning.

The Hot Rods were coming to the plate when the game was called, meaning they will bat first when the two teams play a suspended game doubleheader beginning at 5:05 PM CDT on Friday night. Game one will start in the bottom of the first inning with the Legends holding a 1-0 lead. That game will be a nine-inning game followed by a seven inning contest for the regularly scheduled game on Friday night.

Starting pitchers for both clubs have yet to be announced.

Fans with tickets to Friday night's game will be able to attend both games with one ticket. Fans with tickets to Thursday night's contest can redeem those at the Hot Rods ticket office for a future 2009 home game excluding July 4 and subject to availability.

Friday night will feature a postgame fireworks show presented by WBKO. Gates will open at 5 PM for all ticket holders. You can follow the game with Tom Gauthier on the radio beginning at 5 PM CDT on 1340 WBGN and www.bghotrods.com.
