ROME, GA - The Braves supplied the fireworks, collecting six runs on 10 hits to top Bowling Green, earning a series split on the eve of the Fourth.

Before the Hot Rods recorded an out in the home half of the first, the Braves had already tallied three runs on four consecutive base knocks. Kilpatrick and Alvarez sent singles to center and right to put runners on first and second. Drake Baldwin and David McCabe would both find the right field corner on back-to-back doubles to put the Braves up 3-0. Geraldo Quintero would triple-in McCabe to put one more on the board in the first.

The sixth and seventh hits of the ballgame for Rome both belonged to first baseman Bryson Horne; the second of which left the ballpark to deep right center in the fourth. Alvarez and Quintero would both record their second hit of the day and push the Rome lead out to 6-2 in the fifth.

Rolddy Munoz's outing lasted just three innings, but he exited with a 4-2 lead. Manager Angel Flores entrusted Patrick Halligan and Benjamin Dum with the middle innings, and the two right handers bridged the gap well. Halligan's 2.2 innings and five punch outs earned him the win. Dum held the lead in the seventh and set up Jonathan Hughes for what would be his third save of the season.

With the All-Star break looming in the near future, Rome eyes a six-game set on the road in Greenville. Game one against the Drive is set for tomorrow at 6:05 pm EDT.
