
Horner's big night overwhelms Toros

AUSTIN, TX - Mike Efevberha scored 41 points and Jeff Horner nearly captured a quadruple-double with 19 points, 12 assists, nine rebounds and eight steals and the Iowa Energy defeated the Austin Toros 106-91 on Friday night at the Austin Convention Center.
Iowa led by as many as 19 points as the Toros struggled to overcome a 38 point first quarter, a season-high points scored against Austin in an opening quarter.
Austin was led in scoring by Keith Langford, who scored 26 points and grabbed six rebounds. Marcus Williams scored 20 and dished out five assists. San Antonio Spurs assignee Ian Mahinmi added 11 and 10 rebounds, while Anthony Fuqua also recorded a double-double with 11 rebounds and a season-high 10 points off the bench.
Darryl Watkins and Doug Thomas each scored in double figures for the Energy, with 17 and 16 points respectively, and helped snap the Toros three-game winning streak.
The Toros finish their weekend home stand tomorrow as they take on the Dakota Wizards tomorrow at 7 p.m. at the Austin Convention Center.
