ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENTS...a look at D-League Alumni in last night's NBA games
9 players with D-League experience competed in three NBA games last night. Here is a look at the highlights:
v Houston's Rafer Alston finished with 16 points and 11 assists in 37.21 minutes as Houston defeated the Miami Heat by 12 (112-100) while teammates Aaron Brooks and Steve Novack (who were both assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers this season) combined for more than 15 minutes of action.
v Dorell Wright chipped in with eight points in just over 34 minutes on the court, Earl Barron recorded five points and three rebounds in just under 18 minutes and Alexander Johnson netted five points in just under 14 minutes in the game in Miami's loss.
v Ime Udoka finished with 2 points and three rebounds in just under 22 minutes for the San Antonio Spurs as they beat the Timberwolves by one point (100-99).
v Recently assigned Mickael Gelabale, who played six games with the Idaho Stampede this season, saw 11 minutes of playing time in the Sonics' loss to Portland.
v Martell Webster played just over 26 minutes and scored seven points in Portland's victory over Seattle.
CAVALIERS CALL-UPS FROM COLORADO: The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed forward Kaniel Dickens and guard Billy Thomas, both of the Colorado 14ers. Dickens is averaging 20.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 31.3 minutes in 29 games (28 starts) and Thomas is averaging 15.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 27 games (all starts). The duo will join Cleveland on the road when the team travels to face the Washington Wizards tonight. Dickens and Thomas are the 13th and 14th GATORADE Call-Ups of the season.
D-LEAGUE ON NBA TV: This week's episode of This Week in the D-League features highlights The D-League's second annual All-Star Game presented by Spalding as well as the first-ever Dream Factory Friday Night. Additionally, the show features segments on reigning D-League MVP Randy Livingston's return to his home town of New Orleans, D-League All-Star MVP Jeremy Richardson and his recent GATORADE Call-Up to the Atlanta Hawks and the assignments of Coby Karl and Chris Richard.
