Frederick Keys News Release
After a five-run second inning capped by a three-run home run from SS Blake Davis the Keys were in control in the opener in Myrtle Beach. That is until back-to-back home runs enlivened BB&T Coastal Field bringing Myrtle Beach within one run at 7-6. Keys reliever Tag Horner was the answer, shutting the door in an 8-6 win.
The bullpen was summoned early when Hernandez through 30 pitches in the third inning. RHP Josh Potter worked well prior to the home runs allowed and LHP Horner did not allow a hit, notching his first save of the season.
Keys 1B Mark Fleisher had a big night going 3-for-3 with two walks, a run scored and a run driven in. The home run for Davis was his third of the year.
The series continues Wednesday, August 29th at 7:05 p.m. with coverage beginning at 6:50 p.m. on frederickkeys.com.
