Everett AquaSox News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - Hillsboro scored three runs in the ninth inning and added one more in the top of the 10th to hand the AquaSox an 8-7 loss on Saturday, July 4, at Everett Memorial Stadium. Alex Jackson led the way for Everett with a pair of doubles in his 3-for-5 effort as the Frogs had two three-run rallies.

With fireworks from the surrounding area lighting up the sky in the seventh, Jackson launched a two-out RBI double to the centerfield wall to score Braden Bishop from second and give Everett a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the seventh. Jackson was brought in when pinch hitter Yordi Calderon lined a single past shortstop, and Calderon scored on Drew Jackson's double up the left field line for a 7-4 lead.

The Frogs got three runs in the fourth, too. Luis Liberato got to first on a fielding error to score Corey Simpson from third, and Drew Jackson hit a long sacrifice fly to center to score Alex Jackson. Jordan Cowan lifted a single into the gap in left-center field to score Liberato a few batters later.

Darin Gillies got his first start for Everett and went three innings with one hit allowed, no earned runs and three strikeouts.

Hillsboro's Stephen Dezzi went 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs, and Trevor Mitsui was 2 for 5 with a 2-run homer for the Hops.
