North Little Rock, AR - The Corpus Christi Hooks scored three runs in the ninth inning on Tuesday to come from behind and beat the Arkansas Travelers 4-3 at Dickey-Stephens Park.
Trailing 3-1 entering the ninth, SS Alex Bregman drew a leadoff walk off RHP DJ Johnson (L, 0-3). CF Derek Fisher chopped an infield single and 3B J.D. Davis singled to right to make it a 3-2 game with runners on first and second. After a wild pitch and strikeout, DH Chase McDonald looped a two-run go-ahead single to left to put Corpus Christi on top.
The blown lead was the first for the Travs entering the ninth inning this season. They started the season 18-0 when leading after eight innings.
With the score tied 1-1 in the seventh, SS Angel Rosa drew a one-out walk and 3B Alex Yarbrough belted an RBI triple to right-center to put Arkansas up 2-1. The Travs added a run in the frame on an 1B Eric Aguilera RBI single, his team-best 30th run batted in this year.
Arkansas starter RHP Victor Alcantara was stellar. The righty worked 5.2 innings and allowed only an unearned run on four hits with a walk and three strikeouts, lowering his ERA to 4.01 this season.
