FRISCO, TEXAS - The Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, were shutout by the Tulsa Drillers, 4-0, in game one of a doubleheader Wednesday evening at Dr Pepper Ballpark.

The Drillers (26-24) got on the board in the top of the fifth against Frisco starter Connor Sadzeck (5-2). Paul Hoenecke led off the inning with a solo home run to right field, and Willie Calhoun provided the second run with a bases-loaded walk. Despite the rough fifth inning, Sadzeck worked five innings and allowed two runs on six hits. The righty walked four and struck out four in the loss.

The two fifth-inning runs provided plenty of support for Tulsa starter Brock Stewart (2-3), the league's leader in ERA at 1.09. The righty allowed just one hit and struck out seven over his six innings of work, tossing 71 of his 93 pitches for strikes.

Frisco (30-20) had its best chance to score against Stewart in the fourth, after Ryan Cordell reached on a two-out triple. However, Ronald Guzman struck out to end the threat. The Riders didn't have another runner reach against Stewart or Scott Griggs, who pitched the seventh, the rest of the way and dropped their seventh consecutive game.

Game two began at 7:54 p.m. Southpaw Victor Payano (4-2, 3.78 ERA) is slated to face off against righty Scott Barlow (2-2, 1.93 ERA). Fans can watch the action live on MiLB.TV (subscription required) and listen for free on the Frisco RoughRiders Radio Network, on the TuneIn Radio App, and the MiLB First Pitch App.

The RoughRiders continue a six-game homestand through Sunday at Dr Pepper Ballpark. The homestand includes Superhero Night on Saturday, June 4th, featuring the Jose Canseco Home Run Challenge after the game. Tickets for that game and the other games on the homestand are available now online at RidersBaseball.com, via email at info@ridersbaseball.com, over the phone at (972) 731-9200, or in-person at the RoughRiders box office.
