Corpus Christi capped its doubleheader sweep of San Antonio Monday night at Wolff Stadium with a 15-3 rout.

The Hooks took advantage of two Missions' errors to plate three first-inning runs off starter Casey Kelly. An inning later, Corpus Christi opened up a commanding 6-0 lead when they touched Kelly (1-4) for three more. Kelly, who was making his fourth start of the season, allowed eight total runs (just four earned) on 10 hits and one walk, while striking out a pair in his four innings.

Trailing 8-0 in the fourth, Tyson Gillies got San Antonio on the board with a solo homer to right off Corpus Christi starter Mark Appel. It was Gillies' first dinger of the season.

The Hooks went back on the attack in the fifth against reliever Brandon Alger, plating three more runs capped by Tyler White's single to center.

Corpus Christi added four more against Adam Cimber in the top of the seventh, capped by Conrad Gregor's two-run blast to right.

San Antonio completed the game's scoring with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh. The first run came courtesy of a Rey Bruguera solo shot off Appel. It was Bruguera's first home run at the Double-A level. The dinger ended the night for Appel (4-1), who allowed six hits and two walks, while striking out six over six and a third innings. Casey McElroy drove in the final run of the night with an RBI single off reliever Juan Minaya.

The 15 runs scored by Corpus Christi were the most by a San Antonio opponent this season and the 17 hits tied a season-high.

San Antonio (27-35) wraps up its four-game series with Corpus Christi (43-19) on $2 Tuesday presented by KCWX. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM. Justin Hancock (5-2, 3.10) will get the ball for the Missions, while the Hooks counter with fellow righty Chris Devenski (7-0, 0.65).
