CORPUS CHRISTI - The Corpus Christi Hooks and Tulsa Drillers split a Texas League doubleheader Saturday evening at Whataburger Field before 6,193.

The Hooks are 6-3, Tulsa 2-7.

First Game: Corpus Christi 5, Tulsa 0

Jordan Lyles earned his first Double-A victory with a two-hit performance over six shutout innings as the Hooks turned back Tulsa 5-0.

Lyles (1-1), who struck out five, threw 81 pitches, 56 for strikes. One Driller reached second base, Radames Nazario in the third. He scratched with a swinging bunt single and was sacrificed to second by Brandon Durden.

Danny Meszaros' 1-2-3 ninth extended the Tulsa scoreless streak to 20 innings.

Lou Santangelo crushed the first pitch of the Hooks third over the left-field berm for a 1-0 advantage. His third home run of 2010 was followed an inning later by Koby Clemens' lead-off shot, which cleared the yellow line in left for round-tripper No. 4 before ricocheting off the railing.

David Cook's two-run triple doubled the Corpus Christi lead in the sixth. Clemens and Jon Gaston greeted Tulsa reliever Andy Graham with consecutive singles before Cook slapped a triple to the wall in right-center. Santangelo then singled up the middle, plating Cook for the final margin.

Cook also singled in the second and doubled in the fourth.

German Duran doubled twice inside the bag at third and singled for Corpus Christi.

Durden (0-1) gave up seven hits - five for extra bases - and fanned two.
