Rockford Aviators News Release

LOVES PARK, IL- The Rockford Aviators (27-35) presented by Pearson, home woes continued as they fell to the Windy City ThunderBolts (24-37), 8-4.

The Thunderbolts scored in each of the first six innings of tonight's contest. Kyle Robinson hit his tenth home run of the year for the Bolts, and Davidson Peguero hit his first of the season to add to the Bolts offensive performance.

With the Aviators down 6-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth, the Aviators bats would come alive. Ryan Breen hit a two-RBI double that scored Tanner Witt and Dusty Robinson.

Tyger Pederson followed with a RBI double of his own, and Kyle Dhanani hit into a fielder's choice that scored Pederson.

All four of the Aviators runs came in the fourth inning, but it was not enough to overcome the early deficit.

Josh Slaats struggled on the mound for the Aviators tonight. He pitched 5.1 innings, allowing ten hits and eight runs. He has now lost his last three starts.

The Aviators are now 7-13 at home in the month of July and 14-20 overall at Aviators Stadium this season.

The Aviators will try to avoid the sweep as they wrap up their series with the ThunderBolts tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m.
