Rascals Back to School / Teacher Appreciation Night July 31st

O'Fallon, Missouri - The River City Rascals are excited to announce their upcoming Back to School/Teacher Appreciation Night at T. R. Hughes Ballpark on Thursday, July 31st 2014 presented by Ameren Missouri.

This promotional event is expected to be one of the largest events of the season! The first 500 children, age 15 and under, that walk through the gates will receive a FREE River City Rascals backpack for the upcoming 2014-2015 school year. The backpacks are provided by Ameren Missouri. In addition, there will be multiple businesses on the main concourse providing the children with school supplies. Children will be able to stuff their backpacks with various school supplies needed for the upcoming school year! The backpack and school supplies are free to the first 500 children through the gates, with the purchase of a Rascals' ticket. The following businesses will be on site distributing school supplies: Ameren, The Tutor Doctor, Office Max, Country Financial, Farmers Insurance, i9 Sports, and Walmart.

Aside from some fantastic giveaways, we have exciting activities going on during the game! Ameren's very own Louie The Lightning Bug will be joining us! Additionally, we will be recognizing outstanding teachers on the field. The Rascals are spreading the word to area teachers about Back To School/Teacher Appreciation night, and encourage them to come out and be recognized for their amazing contributions.

That's not all; the Rascals will also have a school bus on site for one week leading up to the event. All fans are invited to "STUFF THE BUS" with school supplies through July 31st. Fans are encouraged to donate unopened school supplies to stuff the bus, and in return will receive a discounted ticket to a Rascals game. The school supplies collected will be donated back to area schools following the event. Supplies can be donated at TR Hughes Ballpark between 9 AM-5 PM every day.

The Rascals would like to thank all of the organizations that have donated school supplies for Back To School/Teacher Appreciation Night. We would especially like to thank Ameren Missouri, the presenting Back To School Night sponsor, for their involvement with the Rascals and our community.
