Utah Grizzlies News Release
The Situation
The Grizzlies continue their four-game home stand Friday and Saturday with San Francisco after going 1-0-0-1 against them in San Francisco two weekends ago. Saturday, the Grizzlies rallied back, shorthanded, from a 3-1 third period deficit to collect a point against division leading Alaska; a night after falling 5-1 to them in possibly the most disappointing game of the season.
Last Four Games
The Grizzlies have collected points in the standings in three of the last four games after Riley Armstrong was named the road captain, Brad Mills the home captain and Mitch Wahl assistant captain. In that stretch, those three lead Utah in scoring. Wahl has two goals and four assists, Mills has two goals and three assists and Armstrong has one goal and two assists. All three played integral parts in Utah's comeback Saturday. Mills and Wahl each had one goal and one assist, while Armstrong got the rally started assisting on Wahl's power-play goal to make it 3-2.
Scoring Early
Utah has scored in the first 6:14 of the first period in seven of their sixteen games. Taking it a step further, Utah has scored in the first 4:04 of a game five times in 16 games.
Who's Been Missing
The Grizzlies continue to be without starting goaltender Andrew Engelage, who remains third all-time in wins by a Grizzlies goaltender. Last year's leading scorer Paul McIlveen has also missed seven-straight games. In addition, this year's leading scorer Bryan Cameron, Tommy Maxwell, Trevor Glass, Nick Tuzzolino, Ryan Watson and Chris Donovan also were out of the lineup this weekend due to injuries.
Home Games
The Grizzlies are still a little short on home games, with only six of their 16 contests being played at Maverik Center. Utah though is in a stretch that started Friday of 12 of 16 games at Maverik Center.
This Weekend
The Grizzlies return home Friday and Saturday. Fans who bring a can of food will receive $5 off any ticket each night. In addition on Friday only, fans with a mustache can get discounted tickets starting at $7.50 to wrap up "Movember" to bring awareness to men's health issues.
