Holt Named New Thunder GM

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder named David Holt as their new General Manager, owner Horn Chen announced today.
Holt joins the Thunder from Express Sports, the parent company of the CHL's Oklahoma City Blazers, where he has spent the past four seasons. He has served as Sales Manager since 2001, where he was responsible for generating corporate revenue. Prior to being named Sales Manager, Holt served as Director of Group sales for two seasons.
"David is among the most versatile employees that I've ever had in my 11 years with the Blazers", said Express Sports CEO Brad Lund. "He is very likeable and non-confrontational and I think the people of Wichita will find him to be a very fan-friendly and hard-working individual."
Prior to joining the Express Sports staff, Holt served as General Manager for Monroe-Stephens Broadcasting, where he oversaw five radio stations in Southern Oklahoma.
"I am very excited about this opportunity", said Holt. "Wichita has a great community and a tremendous fan base and I look forward to making this franchise one of the premier franchises in the CHL."
Holt will join the Thunder staff full-time at the end of March, upon completion of the Express Sports MLS Exhibition game in Oklahoma City on March 29th.. Holt and his wife of 10 years, Valeree, have two sons, six-year-old Jordan and three-year-old Joseph.
The Thunder, winners of five of their last eight games, placed rookie forward Colen Pappas on season-ending injured reserve today with a broken left hand. Pappas suffered the injury over the weekend. The Thunder return to action on Thursday, when they host the Amarillo Gorillas at 7:00 p.m.
