El Segundo, CA - The Los Angeles Kings have assigned defenseman Jason Holland to the Manchester Monarchs. Kings Senior Vice President/General Manager Dave Taylor made the announcement on Monday. Holland, a 6-foot-3, 219-pound blueliner from Morinville, Alberta, was recalled by the Kings on Thursday, November 28. He did not dress in the Kings game vs. the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim on Friday, November 29, and in the Kings game vs. the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday, November 30.
Holland, 26, was selected in the second round (38th overall) of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Islanders, and was signed as a free agent by the Kings on August 23, 2001. He has no goals, 10 assists and 10 points in 18 games with the Monarchs this season. He also has a plus/minus rating of plus-1 in the 18 games.
The Monarchs (12-5-3-1, 2nd place - North Division) return to action on Wednesday when they meet the Canadian Division-leading Hamilton Bulldogs at the Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario.
