Guelph Storm News Release

The Guelph Storm announced today that forward Peter Holland is the AMJ Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, December 12th.

Playing in four games this weekend, the Caledon native recorded nine points, three goals and six assists. On Tuesday in Kitchener, trailing late in regulation Holland helped set up Taylor Beck with the equalizer in the Storm's 4-3 loss to the Rangers. Two nights later in London, the Ducks first round pick set up Beck for the tying goal in the second and then Carroll for the winner in the third as the Storm defeated the Knights by a score of 4-3. Friday night at the Sleeman Centre, Holland picked up two more helpers off Taylor Beck's 18th of the year and Tyler Carroll's 13th. Sunday afternoon was by far the 19 year olds best game of the weekend. Scoring three times and adding an assist in the Storm's 7-6 overtime loss to the Otters, Holland was named second star of the game. Holland's hat trick was his first of the 2010-2011 season and the fourth of his career.

Holland's nine points this weekend bump him up to 39 overall with 20 goals and 19 assists. He sits tied for second in points and leads the Storm in goals with 20. Producing at well over a point per game pace Holland has scored at least one point in seven of his last eight games played.

Next up the Storm face their last week of action before the Christmas break. Travelling to Windsor on Thursday, they have a home and home against the Rangers on Friday and Saturday. Kitchener hosts the front end on Friday before the Storm host the Rangers on Saturday afternoon at a special 2:00 pm time. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling or visiting the Guelph Storm Box Office at 519-837-9690.
