Evansville Otters News Release

The Evansville Otters have added 6'0 shortstop Felix Adamkiewicz from Commack, N.Y., to their 2009 roster.

Felix spent five years playing for Hofstra University while working on his physical education degree. As a freshman in 2004, Adamkiewicz appeared in 20 games, compiling a .241 average in 29 at-bats. He collected his first two collegiate hits on March 13th when his pinch-hit a single drove a runner home. As a freshman he split time between third base and shortstop. As a sophomore he appeared in only four games before an injury red shirted him, giving him an additional year of eligibility.

Adamkiewicz was back on the field for the Hofstra in 2005, playing in 25 games with 51 at-bats and averaging .176. In 2006 his on base percentage jumped from .125 in 2005 to .250 in 25 games and 51 at-bats. During the 2007 season Adamkiewicz averaged .114 in 44 at-bats with an on base percentage of .204. His final season with the Pride was in 2008, when his average increased to .209 and his slugging percentage jumped to a career high of .395. He hit three home runs with 12 RBIs in 86 at-bats as a senior.

The Evansville Otters are members of the Frontier League 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 17th season this summer. The Otters will begin their fifteenth season at 7:05 p.m. May 22 vs. Southern Illinois. Advertising and season-ticket information is available by calling (812) 435-8686.
