OTTAWA - The Ottawa 67's took the lead, fell behind and then mounted a comeback to beat the Owen Sound Attack 4-3 on the road on Saturday night.
After Quinn Yule scored with less than four minutes to play to pull Ottawa even, fellow veteran blueliner Noel Hoefenmayer scored his first of the year to give Ottawa the win. Hoefenmayer also had an assist in the victory, which moves the 67's to 2-2 on the season.
67's goalie Will Cranley, making his first OHL start, impressed by turning away 41 shots to pick up his first career win. Forward Austen Keating had a pair of assists and led both teams with a plus-3 rating.
The 67's got out to an early lead in this one as Tye Felhaber scored his second of the year just 19 seconds into the game. Kevin Bahl, also with his second of the season, made it 2-0 before the midway mark of the opening frame.
The Attack would cut the lead in half at the 11:46 mark of the first period as Nick Suzuki, who had a hat trick on the night, scored his first of the game. The Montreal Canadiens prospect would score again midway through the second to knot things up heading into the final period before pulling Owen Sound ahead early in the third.
The 67's close out the weekend in Hamilton on Sunday afternoon when they visit at the Bulldogs at 2 p.m. Ottawa returns home next weekend to host the Barrie Colts for I Heart Hockey Saturday on (October 6), followed by a battle with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Sunday FunDay (October 7). Both games start at 2 p.m.
