Hockey season approaches with Condors Open House

Fuji Sold to the Highest Bidder!:
The Condors Charity Golf Tournament, set to take place Monday, October 27 at Rio Bravo Country Club is an annual event to raise money for those in need. Golf tournament participants will now have not only the opportunity to play golf with a Condors player, but to choose what player they would like to play with. Golf tournament participants can bid on Yutaka Fukufuji, Dale Reinhart, Andrew Ianiero, Tyler Scott, Dave Bonk and your choice of an Anaheim Ducks prospect. All other players will be randomly assigned to groups.
Bids can only be submitted by a foursome that has submitted their completed registration and sign-up fee. Bids will not be accepted from any foursome that has not registered for the tournament. Proceeds raised from the player auction will benefit the Kern Bridges Youth Homes. Email your bid and the name of the player you wish to bid on to bmarsh@bakersfieldcondors.com with the words "Golf bid" in the subject line.
This Week in Condorstown:
Wednesday, Oct. 1: Condors players D Tylor Scott and F Andrew Ianiero will lend their voices to the Children's Miracle Network (CMN) Radiothon from 3 to 5 p.m. The Condors players will be answering phones and accepting pledges to raise money. The CMN helps raise money to provide for children with cancer, birth defects, accident victims and many other illnesses.
Friday, Oct. 3: Condors mascot Colonel Claw'd will lend a hand to participants at the 2008 Kern County Senior Olympics from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Colonel will march in the parade at the commencement of the Senior Olympics and help present awards at the conclusion. He will also be on hand to help the competitors in the wheelchair race. The event will be held at the Rosewood Retirement Community, located at 1301 New Stine Road.
Friday, Oct. 3: Condors mascot Colonel Claw'd will attend the College Heights Elementary School after-school program from 3 to 4 p.m. Students who have met certain behavioral goals will be able to participate in the fun and games with the Colonel.
Sunday, Oct, 5: Condors Open House will be held at the Bakersfield Ice Sports Center from noon to 3 p.m. Fans are invited to see the 2008-09 Condors in action during their practice and shootout. Afterward, fans can join the players on the ice for a free public skate. Skate rentals are $3. The annual event is open to the public, and free for anyone who brings two non-perishable food items. All the food collected will be donated to the Kern County Food Bank. Ticket plan holders and Kids Club members, who have paid in full, can pick up their ticket packages and season ticket holder gifts at Open House.
