Moose Jaw, SK.--- The Moose Jaw Warriors selected MICHAL HLINKA from SLOVAKIA with their first round 28th overall pick during the CHL Import Draft. Each team can pick two European players in the CHL Import Draft.

Director of Hockey Operations Jeff Truitt believes Michal will be a good fit for this year's squad. "Going into the draft we were looking for an offensive center/wing," said Jeff Truitt. "He has solid hockey roots, his father still plays in the Slovakian Elite League," added Truitt. "Michal handles the puck well, yet still has the size we wanted," commented Truitt.

With the release of Jakub Herman (Czech Republic), Michal Hlinka could fill a possible roster spot for the 10/11 season. Last year, the Warriors selected 5th overall and took Antonin Honejsek (Czech Republic) and Jakub Herman (Czech Republic) 53rd overall.

The Warriors have had success in the past with the Import draft, adding players like Tomas Karpov (2007) and Martin Grundling (2005). Last year's CHL import draft featured two NHL top draftees, Nino Niederreiter and Stanislav Galiev.

Michal will make his first appearance in Moose Jaw for camp in August. For more information, visit www.mjwarriors.ca .
