Calgary Hitmen News Release
Calgary, AB - Trailing 2-0 after the first period, the Calgary Hitmen erupted for six unanswered goals in a 7-4 win over the visiting Red Deer Rebels on Saturday night at Scotiabank Saddledome.
It was a season-high outburst for the Hitmen who received goals from seven different players. Oliver Tulk led the way with three points (1g, 2a) while Ben Kindel (1g, 1a), Carter Yakemchuk (1g, 1a), Sean Tschigerl (2a), Keets Fawcett (2a) and Carson Wetsch (2a) also turned in multi-point performances. Tulk's tally extended his goal scoring streak to four games with Carter MacAdams, Reese Hamilton, David Adaszynski and Tyson Greenway completing the scoring on a night where 13 different Hitmen collected at least a single point.
Calgary has now picked up eight of a possible 10 points in their last five games going 3-0-2 in that span.
Rookie goaltender Alex Garrett made 32 saves to record the victory. His work included a first period breakaway save on Samuel Drancak and a stunning back door stop on Mats Lindgren with 4:39 remaining on a Rebels power play.
Kai Uchacz led Red Deer with a pair of goals with Elias Carmichael and Carson Latimer adding singles.
The Hitmen outshot the visitors 49-36, improving to 3-1-1 on home ice this season.
