
Hitmen to Pick 20th Overall in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft on Thursday

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club will select 20th overall when the Western Hockey League holds its annual Bantam Draft tomorrow, Thursday, May 7, at the Deerfoot Inn in Calgary. Beginning at 8:30 a.m., the draft can be viewed online via live webcast at www.whl.ca.
The WHL Bantam Draft is the first opportunity for teams to replenish their systems with graduating bantam-aged players. The order of selection for the first round of the draft is determined through a weighted lottery consisting of the six non-playoff teams. The remaining draft order is based on the inverse overall standings from the regular season.

Eligible for the draft will be 2000-born players who reside in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories, Yukon, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
More than 80 former Hitmen bantam picks have gone on to play for the franchise including the following players: Beck Malenstyn (2013), Jordy Stallard (2012), Jake Virtanen (2011), Colby Harmsworth (2010), Kenton Helgesen (2009), Cody Sylvester (2007), Martin Jones (2005), Karl Alzner (2003) and Ryan Getzlaf (2000).
