Calgary Hitmen News Release

Winnipeg, MB - The Calgary Hitmen ended a busy stretch of four games in five days with a 3-2 victory over the Winnipeg ICE Sunday night at Wayne Fleming Arena.

Orca Wiesblatt netted the game winner, snapping a 2-2 tie with 6:40 remaining in regulation. Riley Fiddler-Schultz shorthanded and Carson Focht on the powerplay also scored for Calgary.

Cole Muir and Isaac Johnson replied for the ICE who had their three game winning streak snapped.

Calgary outshot Winnipeg 20-19 as rookie goaltender Brayden Peters made 17 saves to record the win. They also went 1-1 with the man advantage while killing four of five ICE powerplays.

Hitmen captain Mark Kastelic, who picked up an assist, skated in career Western Hockey League game 300, becoming just the seventh player in franchise history to reach that plateau.

Calgary, 23-15-4-1, will now head back to Alberta to end their five-game road trip on Saturday, Jan. 25 in Red Deer.

The next Hitmen home game is Sunday, Jan. 26 for a rematch with the Rebels. It's also Sunday Funday presented by Ricky's All Day Grill featuring face painters, concourse activities and giveaways. Following the game fans are invited to take part in 'Dodge Skate with the Hitmen', a 90-minute skate featuring 45 minutes with Hitmen players. Sunday Funday pricing sees a $9.99 ticket for kids 12 and under and a $15.99 ticket for adults (plus applicable fees and taxes).
