Calgary Hitmen News Release
Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen returned home after four games in five days on the road to welcome the Moose Jaw Warriors at Seven Chiefs Sportsplex on Tsuut'ina Nation.
The period started out as a game of special teams with both clubs scoring on the man advantage. Jagger Firkus opened up the scoring for Moose Jaw, while Carter Yakemchuk tallied his first Western Hockey League goal tying the game for Calgary. Matthew Sutter's assist notched him his first career point.
Zac Funk was ejected from the game at the 8:59 mark in the second, but despite the five minute man advantage for Moose Jaw, the period remained scoreless. Daemon Hunt netted one late to give Moose Jaw the lead going into the third period.
Maximus Wanner clinched the insurance goal for Moose Jaw at 4:14. Calgary gave a late push with a pair of power plays and goal from Sean Tschigerl to put them within one, but Moose Jaw held on to secure the 3-2 win. Shots finished up 40-30 for Calgary.
