Hitmen Eliminated from 2019 WHL Playoffs

Calgary, AB - Jake Neighbours and Quinn Benjafield both scored once and added an assist to lead the Edmonton Oil Kings past the Calgary Hitmen 6-0 on Wednesday night at Scotiabank Saddledome.

The victory propels the Oil Kings into the WHL's Eastern Conference Final as they win the second round series 4-0.

Scott Atkinson, Vince Loschiavo, Wyatt McLeod and Andrew Fyten also scored for Edmonton which built period leads of 2-0 and 5-0.

Dylan Myskiw made 18 saves to record the shutout. The 19-year-old Oil Kings goalie had an outstanding series posting a 0.98 goals against average while stopping 84 of 88 shots for a .957 save percentage.

The game ended the junior careers of Hitmen 20-year-old graduating players Luke Coleman, Kaden Elder and Jake Kryski who were all named among the three stars as a tribute to their time with the franchise. Elder spent one season with the Hitmen while Coleman and Kryski both played parts of three seasons in Calgary.
