History In the Making

July 16, 2010 - Golden Baseball League (GBL)
Edmonton Capitals News Release

Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Capitals are on the verge of setting a new Golden Baseball League record and the team is celebrating the stretch of domination with an offer to their loyal fans in attendance. Be a part of history and if the Capitals win their fourteenth consecutive game Friday night setting a new GBL record against the Yuma Scorpions, any fan in attendance can redeem their ticket stub for a two for one offer to any remaining Capitals home game in the 2010 season.

A fourteenth straight win would also tie the all-time record winning streak for any professional sports team in Edmonton. The Eskimos won fourteen in a row but that streak spanned over two seasons in 1954 - 1955.

Friday's game also happens to be a Safeway Fireworks Friday with a spectacular fireworks show after the game and the weather forecast calls for Sunny and twenty degrees by game time.

The Capitals are Edmonton's first choice for professional baseball and family entertainment. Season seats start at less than $9 per game and are available pro-rated for the balance of the season. Individual game tickets are available for just $10 every game. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster locations, the TELUS Field Box Office during regular business hours, by calling (780) 414-GOAL (4625) or online at capsbaseball.ca.
