THE HILLCATS: Lynchburg dropped game one 3-2 and took game two 4-3 in extra innings to earn a doubleheader split in Frederick last night against the Keys...Game two was the third extra-inning game for the Cats in their last eight games...Tonight is the rubber match in the three-game series and the third contest of a six-game road trip...Lynchburg is 4-4 in the deciding games of a series this season 1-0 against Frederick...

VS. FREDERICK: Lynchburg and Frederick are in the midst of their fifth series against each other this season and the Hillcats are 10-4 against the Keys and they are 6-3 at Harry Grove Stadium...Last season the Keys won the season series against the Cats 12-7 and went 6-4 at home...Lynchburg holds the all-time advantage 152-133 and they are 73-68 at Frederick...

RAINING CATS AND KEYS: Game one of the doubleheader last night was delayed and hour and 12 minutes in the middle of the third inning...These two teams have already had three games postponed due to the weather (one of which was canceled), including the first game of the season between the two on April 20th...Their canceled contest on June 11th was the only scheduled game in the first half of the season the Hillcats did not play...

IT ALL EVENS OUT: Last night was the fourth time this season the Hillcats have split a doubleheader and it was the second split against the Keys...Lynchburg has swept one twin bill this season but they have also been swept once...

ROLLIN' ROBLES: RHP Moises Robles worked an inning and 1/3 scoreless innings last night in game one of the double dip...The righty has not allowed an earned run in his last 16 and 2/3 innings of work...Over that time he has lowered his ERA from 6.55 to 2.60...The second year Hillcat was warming up to start the bottom of the third inning when the game was halted due to the weather...

POPPIN' PRASCH: INF Eddie Prasch went 3-for-3 last night with a double and two RBI in game two of the doubleheader last night...It was the second three-hit game for Prasch in his last three games played after he did not have a multi-hit game in his first 38 games of the season...In his last three contests he is 7-for-12 (.583) with two doubles, a triple, four RBI and three runs scored...Over his last seven games Prasch is 9-for-28 (.321) seven RBI and four runs scored and has raised his average from .144 to .182...

QUALITY AND QUANTITY: RHP Bryan Morris went six innings and allowed three runs in his start in game two last night...It was the second straight start Morris has made it through six innings, his two longest stints of the season...After tossing a career-long six and 2/3 innings in his last start he put together his first quality start of the season last night...Morris was scheduled to start tonight's series finale, but was forced into action due to an hour and 12 minute rain delay and after game one starter LHP Jeff Locke could not make it through the first inning...

LOCKE NOT LASTING: LHP Jeff Locke recorded only two outs in his start last night in game one...He allowed three hits, walked a batter and took the loss to drop to 2-7 on the season...He has gone three innings or less in four of his last five starts and over that time he is 0-3 with a 9.98 ERA (17 earned runs in 15 and 1/3 innings)...He has only gotten through five innings in three of his nine starts with the Hillcats...In his first four starts with Lynchburg he went 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA (seven earned runs in 21 innings)...

WALK THIS WAY: OF Jared Keel went 1-for-4 last night in the two games combined with with a homer, an RBI, a run and two walks...During the Hillcats recent six-game homestand he walked ten times and had his fourth three walk contest of the season...In 63 games played this season Keel has walked a team-leading 53 times...Despite the fact that he missed the month of April with a knee injury, he is third in the Carolina League in base on balls...He is also second in the league in on-base percentage with a .410 clip, only behind teammate C Kris Watts (.445)...

SWELL SEASON: RHP R.J. Rodriguez notched his 19th save of the season on last night by tossing a scoreless eighth inning in game two...He leads the CL in that category and still only has one blown save on the season...He allowed two runs in his one blown save on July 2nd, those are the only two earned runs he has allowed in his last 22 appearances...Over that time he has lowered his earned run average from 4.70 to 2.41 and has walked only eight batters in those 23 innings after walking 11 his first 14 and 1/3 innings this season...July 2nd was also the only time this season he has allowed a home run and batters in the CL are hitting just .206 against the All-Star closer...

TONIGHT'S OPPOSING PITCHER: RHP Sean Gleason was selected by Baltimore in the 20th round of the 2007 draft out of St. Mary's College...In 2007 with the Gaels he went 4-8 with a 4.77 ERA in 15 games (14 starts)...He made his professional debut that same year with Rookie Bluefield and posted 5-4 record with a 2.93 ERA in 14 games (10 starts)...Last season he went 12-2 with a 2.63 ERA in 30 games (21 starts) with full-season Low-A Delmarva...He was named a 2008 South Atlantic League All-Star for his work with the Shorebirds...This season he skipped Advanced-A to start the season and began with Double-A Bowie...With the Bowie he went 3-5 with a 5.96 ERA in 10 starts before getting reassigned to Frederick...In nine starts (eight games) with the Keys he is 2-3 with a 4.28 ERA and he makes his first start against Lynchburg tonight...
