York Revolution right-hander Shawn Hill did not allow a run for the third time in as many starts, earning his first win of the season in a 6-1 victory over the Long Island Ducks in the nightcap of Saturday's day-night doubleheader in front of 6,513 fans at Bethpage Ballpark. The Revs have won eight of their last 11 games overall, and are now 5-2 on their eight-game road trip, moving into sole possession of second place in the Freedom Division, four games behind Lancaster. They will head into Sunday afternoon's finale with an opportunity to match the best road trip in club history with a win.

Hill (1-0) worked a season-high 6.1 innings, and allowed just four hits while walking only one and striking out seven. He has now combined to allow no runs in 14.2 innings over his three starts, and on Saturday night threw first pitch strikes to 20 of the first 22 batters he faced.

On the flip side, the Revs roughed up Ducks righty Mike Loree, the reigning Atlantic League Pitcher of the Year. Loree was saddled with his first loss of the season, touched for a season-high-tying six runs on a season-high 10 hits including three homers in five innings. He had previously allowed just two home runs in his first six starts.

Scott Grimes and Ramon Castro gave the Revs a quick 2-0 lead with back-to-back homers to left in the first inning.

Bobby Kielty led off the second with a single to right, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by James Shanks, took third on a fly ball, and scored on a wild pitch as the Revs' lead grew to 3-0.

York scored three more in the fourth as Chris Nowak led off with a double off the wall in left-center and scored on a Kielty single to left field. Shanks followed with a two-run homer to right, making it a 6-0 game.

The Ducks plated their lone run on a solo homer to right by Bryant Nelson in the eighth.

Castro extended his hitting streak to 13 consecutive games, the Revs' longest of the year. Grimes and Shanks now have 37 homers apiece in their Revolution career, tied for the second most in club history and just five shy of Jason Aspito's all-time team record. Shanks also has a seven-game hitting streak, while Brandon Haveman (2-for-5) has an eight-game hitting streak.

The Revs have held the Ducks to just one run in their first two wins in the series, and have held the opposition to two runs or fewer in eight of the last ten contests.

York has won six of their last eight away from home.

Long Island took the opening game of Saturday's doubleheader by a 17-3 count, handing the Revs their most lopsided loss of the season.

York scored the game's first run on an Andres Perez RBI single in the second inning, but it was the only run allowed by Ducks starter Jason Monti (4-1) who earned the win, giving up a mere two hits and an unearned run in six innings of work.

Long Island tied the score on a sac fly by Wilberto Ortiz in the bottom of the second, and erupted for a pair of big innings to turn it into a blowout.

The Ducks scored six times in the third inning, taking their first lead on Bryant Nelson's RBI double. Revs starter Yunior Novoa struck out the next two hitters attempting to strand Nelson at third, but committed a balk allowing Nelson to score. Things went downhill from there, as the Ducks added four more runs in the inning, receiving RBI singles from Shawn Williams and Dan Lyons, with a two-run double from Ortiz in between.

Matt Esquivel added a solo homer to left-center in the fourth, as Novoa (1-4) was charged with eight runs in four innings, suffering the loss.

The Ducks put together an even bigger outburst in the sixth, scoring seven times against reliever Andy Wells who did not record an out in the inning, after having previously posted a scoreless frame the inning before. Five walks and four hits led to the big inning. RBI singles by Ray Navarrete and Williams preceded a three-run double to center off the bat of Reid Gorecki. Nelson also provided a sacrifice fly in the monster inning.

Navarrete homered to left in the seventh to cap off his big day, going 3-for-4 with a homer, double, two RBI, four runs scored, and reaching base five times.

Nelson homered to right in the bottom of the eighth, but first baseman Chris Nowak retired the next three batters after being brought in to pitch the final inning, making the first pitching appearance of his career.

York received a two-run ground rule double to right from Liubiemithz Rodriguez in the seventh for the Revs' final runs.
