High Stakes Await in Freedom Final Home Series

FLORENCE, Ky - With a mere six games remaining in the Frontier League regular-season, the Florence Freedom, presented by Titan Mechanical Solutions, hold the final wild-card spot for the upcoming post-season, but a .5 game is all that separates them from the next team in line, Normal, who arrives in Florence on Wednesday for a best of three series at UC Health Stadium.

Winners of seven of their last ten, and four in a row, the Freedom (47-43) have earned the right to control their own destiny, but will take on the West Division's third and first-place teams over the final six games of regular-season play. The final push to the post-season will begin with three games in Florence, where the Freedom will square-off with the third-place, Normal Cornbelters (46-43) in what will be the final three games played at UC Health Stadium in the 2018 regular season. The Freedom are (5-4) against Normal on the year, and took two-of-three from the Belters at the Corn Crib to start their winning streak last Tuesday-Thursday.

This will be a high-stakes series, as the CornBelters are on the heels of Florence for the final wild card spot in the Frontier League Playoffs. Entering the series, the Freedom hold a .5 game edge on Normal, and a one-game lead over Evansville (46-44), and Lake Erie (46-44) for the coveted fourth-spot.

With no margin for error, it is sure to be a thrilling race to the finish of the Frontier League regular-season. Fans can purchase "Playoff Passes" to gain entry in to UC Health Stadium for all future Freedom home playoff games in 2018. Freedom Playoff Passes are being sold for $10.

Wednesday

Join us at UC Health Stadium on August 29th as the Freedom once again join the fight against cancer.

Tickets to the game will be donated to cancer survivors and loved ones who are still fighting courtesy of the corporate partners of the Freedom.

Game time: 5:35pm (doubleheader)

Gates open: 4:35pm

Specialty Jerseys: After game 1, there will be an auction for the specialty jerseys worn by Freedom players to raise money for the I Have Wings Foundation and UC Health Charities.

Petting Zoo: Honey Hill farms is bringing a petting zoo to UC Health Stadium! Includes chickens, ducks, rabbits, sheep, goats, an alpaca, and a mini donkey or mini horse. Children get to feed the animals (in most cases).

Between games: We will invite survivors and those still fighting cancer down to the field between games for a special ceremony.

It is also a Whiskey Wednesday! Boone County Distilling presents Whiskey Wednesday during each Wednesday home game. Boone County Distilling products will be $1 off at the Freedom Bar. Kentucky Proud also presents discounts on a host of Kentucky Proud products, supporting Kentucky agriculture. Save $1 on Kentucky Proud products like Glier's hot dogs, Stonebrook Winery wine and popcorn at the concession stands.
