All even at one and one: The first two games of the 2011 East Division Semi-Finals are in the record books, with Charlotte claiming a 5-4 win in regulation Thursday in Game 1 at Giant Center. Drayson Bowman scored the third period game-winner to lead the Checkers to victory. HERSHEY rebounded to claim a 4-2 win in Game 2 on Sunday, with Brian Willsie scoring the eventual game-winning goal in the second period. Sheldon Souray scored his first Calder Cup playoff goal as a BEAR blueliner, a short-handed tally in the second period.
Orlov puts on a show: Rookie defenseman Dmitry Orlov recorded an assist Sunday in Game 2, but was also a plus four for HERSHEY in just his second North American playoff game. He was named the game's number one star in HERSHEY'S 4-2 win over Charlotte.
Doing what he does best: Center Keith Aucoin has enjoyed two multi-point games in his first two 2011 Calder Cup playoff games. Aucoin picked up a goal and an assist Thursday in Game 1, and two assists on Sunday in Game 2. His goal in Game 1 was his 75 th career Calder Cup playoff point.
Around the AHL: The Norfolk Admirals look to upset top seed Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this week. The Admirals won two games in northeast PA this past weekend to lead the series two games to none. Game 3, 4 and 5 in the series will be played this week at Norfolk Scope.
