
Admirals, Stars Shift Series to Texas

Milwaukee, WI-- The Milwaukee Admirals and Texas Stars are tied at a game a piece in the best of seven West Division Semi Finals and will travel to Texas for the next three games starting with game three on Tuesday, April 19 at 7:30 pm.
Gabriel Bourque and Chris Mueller led Milwaukee to a 5-2 victory in game one, netting two goals a piece. Bourque ended the night with five points (2g, 3a) tying an Admirals franchise playoff record while Mueller notched four points (2g, 2a). Texas evened the series with a 3-1 win on Saturday night, scoring three unanswered goals after Milwaukee had taken a 1-0 lead.
Admirals goaltender Jeremy Smith had a strong performance in game one stopping 22 of 24 shots in his first playoff start. Despite suffering the loss in game two, Smith stopped 26 of 29 shots. A major difference between the two games was goaltending for Texas. Richard Bachman made only 13 saves and was pulled after 40 minutes in game one but bounced back in game two making 29 saves, including 14 in the third period.
In spite of the two teams ending the regular season as the least penalized teams in the league, combined they had 13 power-play chances in game two. Two of the three goals for Texas came on the power-play, while Milwaukee scored their only goal of the night on one of their seven power-play opportunities.
Milwaukee will play the next three games on the road where they found success during the regular season, ending with points in 16 straight away games. They have not lost in regulation on the road since January 13 and recorded a 21-10-4-5 away record during the regular season, while Texas posted an impressive 22-12-3-3 record at home.
The Admirals will be hosting viewing parties for all three games beginning with game three on Tuesday night at 7:30 at Major Goolsbys.
