
Hershey Bears choose national anthem singers

The HERSHEY BEARS announced today that they have selected five individuals to sing the national anthem prior to home games throughout the 2004-2005 season.
Chosen to perform "The Star Spangled Banner" are Amy Beniston of Annville, Ashley Foreman of York, Erin Kelly of Allentown, and Amy Price of Lebanon. On select dates this season, the BEARS will rotate between the above four soloists. Chosen to perform "O'Canada" is Michael Benson of Enola, which will be sung when the BEARS play against a Canadian team Local school choruses will perform the national anthem on the other open dates.
Performers were asked to provide an audio cassette or compact disc containing a rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner," "God Bless America" and "O'Canada." The BEARS contacted 17 finalists and conducted a live audition in GIANT CenterSM on August 26.
Forty-six people sent a performance recording and the BEARS would like to thank all of those individuals for their interest.
