Syracuse Signs Left Wing Michael Tessier

Syracuse, NY (September 1, 2004) – The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have signed left wing Michael Tessier to an American Hockey League contract.

Tessier, 20, appeared in 68 games with Cape Breton of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League last season, recording 31 goals, 35 assists and 103 penalty minutes. In 251 career QMJHL games with Acadie Bathurst (QMJHL) and Cape Breton, Tessier has tallied 77 goals, 121 assists and 410 penalty minutes.

A native of Granby, Quebec, Tessier was originally selected by Buffalo in the third round, 76th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
