LANSING, Mich. -- The Lansing Lugnuts, in conjunction with the Toronto Blue Jays, announced Friday that pitcher Jesse Hernandez has been promoted to Dunedin (A-Advanced - Florida State League) with pitcher Aleson Escalante transferred to Lansing from Extended Spring Training in a corresponding move.

Signed as a nondrafted free agent from Central Michigan University, Hernandez was 4-4 with a 2.29 ERA in 13 appearances (12 starts) in his first season with the Lugnuts. He was honored as Lansing's April Player of the Month after posting a 2-1 record with a sterling 1.07 ERA in 25 1/3 innings. In his most recent outing, the Grand Rapids native brought a no-hitter into the eighth inning at Fort Wayne, settling for a bittersweet one-hit gem in a 1-0 loss to the TinCaps.

The Lugnuts' roster currently comprises 25 active members with three players on the Disabled List.
