Herd Falls Short to Lakeland

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost to the Lakeland Magic 134-115. The Herd scored 40 points in the second quarter to lead 67-62 at halftime. The Magic scored 72 points in the second half while the Herd scored 48 points.

Rayjon Tucker led the Herd with 31 points and six rebounds while Jalen Lecque added 23 points. Tremont Waters followed with 21 points.

Admiral Schofield led the Magic with 27 points while three players added 16 points.

The Herd started the game strong going up 15-7 with 8:56 left in the first quarter. The Herd continued to build their lead going up by 10 with five minutes left. The Magic went on a 13-2 run to go ahead 25-24. With one minute left Tiwian Kendley hit a three to put the Herd back up 27-25. The Magic scored four points to go ahead 31-27 at the end of the first quarter.

The Herd came out with a 7-0 run to take lead back 34-31. The Herd continued to build their lead going up 45-39 with seven minutes left in the second quarter. Lakeland made a run to come within three points, 58-55, with two minutes remaining. Tremont Waters hit a last-second layup to put the Herd up 67-62 at the end of the first half. Rayjon Tucker led the Herd with 27 points while Tremont Waters added 13 in the first half.

The Magic went up 77-75 with seven and a half minutes left in the third quarter. Rayjon Tucker scored a two-point shot to tie the game, but the Magic answered to go back up 79-77. The Magic went on a 13-2 run to go ahead 92-79 with three minutes left in the third quarter. The Magic led at the end of the third quarter 94-87.

The Magic grew their lead to 104-90 with nine minutes left in the fourth quarter. Lakeland led by 20 points, 124-104, with four minutes left. The Magic outscored the Herd 10-9 to win the game 134-115.

The Wisconsin Herd will play at Greensboro Swarm on Friday, February 4 with tip-off set for 6:00 p.m. CST.
