
Herd Closes out Comeback Victory

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, beat the Capital City Go-Go 131-129. Capital City led the entire game, holding a 15-point lead at the end of the third quarter. The Herd crawled back to take their first lead of the game with 45 seconds left in the game. The Herd held on to win the game 131-129.
Six Herd players scored in double digits including the whole starting lineup. Frank Mason III piloted the Herd with 30 points in his return to Oshkosh while Jalen Lecque added 23 points. Sandro Mamukelashvili posted a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Jaime Echenique led the Go-Go with 22 points followed by Greg Monroe with 18 points.
Brendan Bailey threw down a dunk to put the Herd on the board. The Go-Go took an early lead going up 18-4 with seven and a half minutes left in the first quarter. The Herd outscored the Go-Go 10-5 to come within nine points. The Go-Go held on to lead 35-24 at the end of the first quarter.
The Herd outscored the Go-Go 16-11 to come within six points with eight minutes left in the second quarter. The Go-Go stayed in the lead but the Herd stuck within five points. Capital City led 61-59 with one and a half minutes left in the half. The Go-Go held on to lead 69-64 at the half. Rayjon Tucker led the Herd with 14 points in the first half.
The Go-Go led by nine points with seven and a half minutes left in the third quarter. Jalen Lecque hit a three to put the Herd within four points. Capital City was on top 100-95 at the end of the third quarter.
The Herd came within three points but the Go-Go turned around to build their lead by 10 with eight minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Frank Mason III converted a four-point play to put the Herd within four points. Frank Mason III completed a fast break layup to put the Herd within two points with five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Jalen Lecque hit a three-point shot to put the Herd in its first lead of the game 127-126. The Herd outscored the Go-Go 4-3 to win 131-129.
The Herd and the Go-Go will face off in the second game of the back-to-back series on Saturday, March 5 with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. CST.
