Toronto, ON - The Abbotsford Heat scored a power play goal with 2:35 remaining in the third period to beat the Toronto Marlies 3-2 at the Ricoh Coliseum on Sunday.

Roman Horak had the game-winning goal and an assist, and Ben Walter had two assists in his return to the line-up. Barry Brust earned his seventh win in eight starts this season. The victory puts the Heat back into top spot in the AHL with 33 points in 23 games, and ends the club's three-game winless streak.

Max Reinhart gave the Heat a 1-0 lead 3:00 into the second period. The goal was his second goal of the season and second in his last three games. Ben Walter and Roman Horak drew assists on the play.

The Heat extended their lead to 2-0 on Ben Street's sixth goal of the season. The goal was assisted by Brett Olson after his shot hit the post and Street scored on the rebound.

The Marlies closed the deficit 2-1 at 4:15 of the third period. The Marlies tied the game at 2-2 goals on a deflected point shot at the 13:00 minute mark of the third period.

The Heat scored the winning goal on their third power play of the game. The goal was scored by Roman Horak and assisted by Ben Walter.

Barry Brust stopped 16 of the 18 shots he faced. The Heat outshot the Marlies 22-18, handing Toronto just their second regular season home loss.

The Heat penalty kill negated all three Marlies power plays and the Heat power play was one for three.

The Heat now travel to Rochester for their second of two divisional games on this road trip.

Next weekend, the Heat are at home for a pair of games against the Texas Stars. The weekend will feature a 2-for-1 ticket deal for fans: when fans purchase a ticket for Friday's "Teddy Bear Toss" game, they get a ticket to Saturday's game as well.
