Houston, TX - Houston Aeros General Manager Jim Mill announced on Sunday the NHL's Minnesota Wild have reassigned goalie Darcy Kuemper to the Houston Aeros from the Orlando Solar Bears, the Aeros ECHL affiliate. The Aeros also recalled defenseman Kyle Medvec from Orlando and released goalie John Curry from a PTO (professional tryout agreement).

Kuemper played for Orlando on Saturday night at home, suffering a 3-0 loss to Fort Wayne after stopping 32 of 35. In two appearances for the Solar Bears this season, he is 0-2-0 with a 2.61 goals against average and a .929 save percentage. The rookie has made five appearances for the Aeros this season, going 3-2-0 with a 2.56 goals against average and a .898 save percentage. Kuemper also posted the Houston's first shutout of the season with 33 saves against Milwaukee at home on Oct. 27. The 22-year old was drafted by Minnesota in the sixth round (#161 overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. He played in eight games for the ECHL's Ontario Reign in 2011-12, going 7-2-0 with a 1.74 goals against average and a .941 save percentage.

Medvec spent training camp with the Aeros prior to his assignment to Orlando on Oct. 11. The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder has played in 12 games for Orlando this season, scoring three goals and adding four assists for seven points. He spent his rookie season in 2011-12 with the Aeros, scoring one goal and totaling four points in 56 games played. The 24-year old was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the fourth round (#102 overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Curry returns to Orlando after backing up goalie Matt Hackett on Friday night at Texas. Curry's made 15 appearances for Orlando this season, going 8-5-2-0. The 28-year old posted a 2.68 goals against average and a .910 save percentage with the Solar Bears. The sixth-year pro has made 177 AHL appearances, going 103-59-6 with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton from 2007-11. He produced a 2.49 goals against average and a .907 save percentage in the AHL. The Shorewood, MN native played in Hamburg of the DEL last season, going 22-20-0 with a 2.73 goals against average and a .917 save percentage.

The Aeros return to Toyota Center on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 5:05 p.m. to host the Peoria Rivermen. Fans are allowed to purchase a ticket for their dog and bring their canine in honor of "Chilly's Pets Pals". The Aeros will have a "dog friendly" section complete with a water and relief station. Any fan who brings a dog toy as part of the Dog Toy Drive will receive two tickets to a select future Aeros home game. Every Sunday throughout the season is Family Day, where fans may purchase four tickets, parking and four Aeros prizes starting at $54.

Aeros season tickets start as low as $9 per seat and may be purchased online at Aeros.com by placing a $100 deposit.
