Manchester, NH - The Worcester Sharks (12-8-1-2, 27pts) scored the only two goals in the third period in another exciting come from behind 3-2 victory over the Manchester Monarchs (11-10-2-1, 25pts) on Sunday afternoon in front of 4,386 fans at the Verizon Wireless Arena. With the victory, the Sharks moved into sole possession of first place in the Atlantic Division.
Tim Kennedy extended his point streak to eight games (7-7-14) with his team leading 12th goal and an assist while Brodie Reid scored the game winner at 11:56 of the third period. Harri Sateri grabbed his 4th straight win in net for Worcester with 21 saves in goal including a breakaway save on Tanner Pearson early in the third period when the Sharks were down 2-1. The Sharks won for an AHL leading 5th time this season when trailing after 40 minutes of play as Worcester won for the 7th time in their last eight road games.
The Monarchs struck first with a 5-on-3 power play goal as Thomas Hickey (1st) sent a blast through a screen and past the glove of Harri Sateri at 5:24 to give Manchester a 1-0 lead. James Livingston (1st FM) and Andy Andreoff (4th FM) scrapped at 10:36 followed by Matt Pelech (6th FM) and Richard Clune (10th FM) at 18:21 in a physical first frame. Worcester outshot Manchester 17-8 through 20 minutes of play but trailed 1-0.
The Sharks controlled the majority of the 2nd period outshooting the Monarchs 17-5. Tim Kennedy extended his point streak to eight games (6-7-13) with a beautiful deek and then pass to a wide open John McCarthy (3rd) at the side of the Monarchs net to tie the score at 1-1 at 15:47. Manchester regained the lead at 19:10 after Dwight King (3rd) deflected a Bryan Rodney wrister past Harri Sateri to give the Monarchs a 2-1 advantage through 40 minutes.
Harri Sateri made several big stops early in the third period to keep Worcester within a goal including a breakaway save on Tanner Pearson with 13 minutes remaining. Red hot Tim Kennedy (12th) tied the score at 2-2 with a beautiful move around a Monarchs defender and snuck the puck past Mannino at 8:28. The Sharks went ahead at 11:56 with a designed break out move that sprung Brodie Reid (3rd) down the right wing and Reid roofed a wicked snap shot to give the Sharks a 3-2 edge. The Sharks and Sateri held off a late Monarchs charge and won for the 5th time when trailing after 40 minutes of play.
The Sharks overall record improves to 12-8-1-2 (27pts in 23gp) and 7-4-0-1 (15pts in 12gp) on the road this season.

Bracken Kearns added two assists for the Sharks in the win.
