Heat Sign Two Players

ABBOTSFORD BC - The Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League (AHL) have today signed goaltender Andy Neilsen and centre Aaron Marvin.

Neilsen, 42, from Calgary, Alberta, now resides in Abbotsford BC and is a goaltending instructor for the Yale Academy. Neilsen has been signed to a PTO (professional tryout) and will back up Heat goaltender JP Lamoureux this evening.

Marvin, 22, hails from Warroad, MN and was a 3rd round draft selection (89th overall) of the Calgary Flames in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Marvin has played his last four seasons with St. Cloud State University, and this season scored nine goals while adding six assists for 15 points in 37 games. Marvin has been signed to an ATO (amateur tryout).

Both players will be available for selection as the Heat take on the Hamilton Bulldogs in AHL action on Saturday night in the Fraser Valley. Game time will be at 7 PM from the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre.
