Hay First Player to Re-Sign with Ice Pilots

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots, under the ownership of Hockey Enterprises of Pensacola, L.L.C. with owner Tim Kerr, announced that forward Dwayne Hay has re-signed with the Ice Pilots for the 2004-2005 season.

Hay, who stands 6'1" and weighs 220 pounds, played in 62 games with the Ice Pilots last season scoring 29 goals, 30 assists for 59 points and picked up 40 penalty minutes and played in all five playoff games last year scoring one goal, three assists for four points and picked up two penalty minutes.

Hay was the top goal scorer for the Ice Pilots last season with 29 goals and also lead the team with 7 game winning goals and 275 shots. He played the 2002-2003 season with St. John's of the American Hockey League scoring 10 goals, 19 assists for 29 points and picked up 31 penalty minutes in 51 games played.

Hay has played a total of 79 games in the NHL during his career from 1997-2001 with Calgary, Tampa Bay and Florida. His last season in the NHL was the 2000-2001 season playing in 49 games for Calgary scoring one goal, three assists for four points and picked up sixteen penalty minutes.

Hay has also played in the American Hockey League with New Haven, Louisville and Saint-John. He played his junior hockey from 1994-1997 for Guelph in the Ontario Hockey League and was selected by the Washington Capitals in the second round and the 43rd overall player taken in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. Hay, who is 27 years old, is from London, Ontario and shoots left.

"I'm excited on returning to Pensacola to play for a great organization with solid ownership with Tim Kerr and the Ice Pilots. Last year was the most fun that I had playing hockey professionally and I am looking forward to help bring a championship to Pensacola which is a city that deserves one," said Hay.

The Ice Pilots search for a new head coach continues and hope to have some news in the next couple of weeks as a lot of resumes have been received.

"The candidates that have been interested are solid. I have had a lot of phone calls and conversations from coaches with experience in the ECHL, AHL, NHL and other minor leagues. We are hoping to have an announcement on the new head coach in the next week or two," said Ice Pilots Owner, President and Governor Tim Kerr.

The Ice Pilots will begin the 2004-2005 regular season at Mississippi on October 23 and play their home opener Saturday, October 30 vs. the Kelly Cup Finalist's Florida Everblades at 7:05 p.m.

Season tickets for all 36 home games for floor and glass seats are $649.44, side seats are $459.00, goal seats and lower upper seats are $411.84 and upper seats cost $324.00. 16 game plans, 8 game plans and flex packs also are available.
