Hawks win over Devils

PASCO, Wash. - Erick Leal tossed six strong innings to pick up his second win of the season, as the Boise Hawks won back-to-back games for the first time since June 15, stopping the Tri-City Dust Devils, 8-3, at Gesa Stadium.
The right-hander handcuffed the Dust Devils for the second time this season, allowing just five hits and one unearned run in a season-high six innings of work.
Boise used a four-run third inning to grab the lead - getting an RBI single by Mark Zagunis; a two-run homer by Jesse Hodges, and an RBI single by Mark Malave.
After Tri-City scored an unearned run in the fifth inning, Boise put the game away in the seventh, as Danny Canela delivered an RBI ground out; Malave lined an RBI single up the middle; and Giuseppe Papaccio roped an RBI double into the left field corner.
Zagunis, Hodges, Malave, and Papaccio each had two hits in the victory for Boise, who won back-to-back games for the first time since June 15.
Dust Devils starter Ryan Warner did not make it out of the fourth inning, allowing four runs on five hits in three-plus innings.
Game 5 of the series is Thursday night, with Trevor Clifton meeting Helmis Rodriguez at 8:15 p.m.
