
Hawks Walk Past Canadians 5-3

Vancouver, British Columbia - Logan Sawyer pitched six solid innings and the Hawks, aided by nine walks from Canadians pitchers, grabbed the 5-3 victory on Monday night.
The Hawks scored first, plating one run off Canadians starter, Angel Perdomo in the first inning when Brian Carroll scored on a Brian Mundell sacrifice fly.
The Canadians responded in the bottom half of the inning and tied the game on a two-out RBI single from Ryan Hissey.
The two teams again traded runs in the fifth inning. Kevin Padlo drove in Wesley Jones with a sacrifice fly in the top half before Andrew Guillotte crossed home on a wild pitch from Sawyer in the bottom of the inning.
The Hawks grabbed the lead for good in the seventh inning, scoring three runs off Canadians pitcher, Turner Lee capped off by a Terry McClure RBI single that gave the Hawks a 5-2 lead.
The Canadians tacked on one more run on a Justin Atkinson RBI single before Carlos Quintin came on and shut the door in the ninth to give the Hawks the 5-3 victory.
The Hawks (24-40) will face the Canadians (29-34) in the third game of this five game series tomorrow night. First pitch is set for 8:05 p.m.
Notes: Cristin Quintin picked up his sixth save of the year... Logan Sawyer pitched six innings and was credited with his fourth win of the season... Brian Mundell hit two sacrifice flies... Brian Carroll went 2 for 3 with two singles... Logan Cozart picked up his fourth hold of the season... Hawks walked nine times, the second most this season.
