
Hawks Round Out 2008 with a 4-2 Win Over Seattle

The Portland Winter Hawks score the first four goals of the game and held on to defeat the Seattle Thunderbirds by a margin of 4-2 in front of 8,432 at the Rose Garden on Wednesday night.
Riley Boychuk, Oliver Gabriel, Stefan Schneider and Killian Hutt scored for the Hawks, with Gabriel's goal coming off a penalty shot in the second period.
Seattle got two goals late in the game on the power play, one from Lindsay Nielsen and the other from Prab Rai, but that would be all the offense for the Thunderbirds.
Kurtis Mucha handled 31 of 33 shots to get the victory for Portland while Jacob DeSerres handled 25 of 29 shots in the loss.
On special teams, Portland went 1 for 6 while Seattle went 2 for 5 on the power play.
