South Bend Silver Hawks News Release

South Bend, IN - The South Bend Silver Hawks lose a tough one tonight to the West Michigan Whitecaps by the score of 10-9.

It was back and forth throughout the whole game. The Hawks took a 9-7 lead in the 7th inning when Taylor Harbin knocked in 2 with a double. South Bend had a chance to add to the lead, but they failed. That failure ended up coming back to haunt them. With the score 9-8 in the 9th, West Michigan managed to score 2 off of closer Billy Spottiswood (4-4) to make the score 10-9. South Bend got runners on in the 9th, but nothing came from it.

Taylor Harbin had a phenomenal game at the plate tonight. Harbin went 5 for 6 with 3 doubles and 6 RBI's. The trio of Ollie Linton, Collin Cowgill and Derrick Walker had 2 hits apiece as well.

The Silver Hawks will take a much needed day off tomorrow to regroup before heading up north to take on the Great Lakes Loons. Thursday's game time is slated for 7:05 PM.
